Mswima   Villagers made it!!

Mswima village  is finalising the construction of a village dispensary in a bid to provide its people with basic health services they are currently forced to trek up to 20 kilometres to seek them in neighbouring villages.

Speaking at his office early this week, Mswima village chairman Lamsoni Kijalo said that construction of the health centre was made possible through collaborative efforts between the local government and the people.

The government issued 29m/- towards the construction of the dispensary, while the local residents contributed the remaining amount primarily by volunteering labour force to various project activities.

Kijalo expressed hopes that the dispensary would be up and running by the end of next month, adding that he was optimistic that it would offer welcome respite, not only to Mswima villagers, but also to many nearby communities lacking the essential service.

For his part, project contractor Ambakisye Mwakipesile thanked the villagers for their active involvement in accomplishing the project, saying that he was glad they had volunteered their time and skills without being forced by anyone.

He also commended the government for undertaking to build a dispensary in every village, as a national policy which in turn had encouraged the people to take the initiative to help it realise the goal.
Despite this achievement, he said, the village still faced a myriad of challenges including inadequate infrastructure, including reliable roads.
